In 2011 I started a facebook challenge that not one person, that I know of, ever took up. Ha! I was just trying to add my own spin to the litany of day challenges that were so pervasive at the time (and now they are making a resurgence with everyone staying at home to flatten that curve - go figure). It was cool, even if it was just for myself. Maybe someone learned something. I thought it was kinda well-thought out and the last day of it challenged someone to actually make something. Maybe it was a bit too MUCH for those outside of the art world. LOL.
*Feel free to use and alter this list. Images for each day are in order below.
(copied from original facebook posts)
Day 1 - In an effort to do something a little different I am making an Artwork Challenge similar to all the music and video game etc. challenges I've been seeing.
So this is
Day 1 - Artwork from one of your favorite artist - Alex Gray
Day 2 - Artwork from your least favorite artist - Andy Warhol
Soup cans don't excite me.
Day 3 - Artwork that makes you feel happy. A not-so-well-known artist I stumbled across a few years ago. www.WendyWagner.com
Day 4 - Artwork that makes you sad/depressed.
I have felt grief that seemed to distort the world like this.
Fittingly, a quote from the same artist: "From my rotting body, flowers shall grow and I am in them and that is eternity." -Edvard Munch
Day 5 - Artwork that reminds you of someone.
The Nightmare by John Henry Fuseli.
My wife likes this painting. It's alright.
Day 6 - Artwork that reminds you of a place or memory.
Dali - Giant Flying Mocca Cup, with an Inexplicable Five-Metre Appendage
This reminds me, in two ways, of being on a cruise ship. First, the numerous fakes sold at auction in international waters - they always have an 'original' Dali. Second, morning coffee on the humid cabin balcony.
Day 07 - Artwork from your favorite photographer.
This is a husband and wife team Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison
This is from a series titled "Architect's Brother" in which, to my understanding, no digital media were employed.
That series and more:

Day 08 - Artwork from your favorite sculptor.
The Pietà by Michelangelo Buonarroti. Hands down the greatest sculptor ever...period. Nothing compares when you stand in front of this statue at St. Peter'sPietà Basilica or sit in front of the statue of David. The stone is alive.
Day 09 - Artwork from an installation artist. - Tara Donovan
This piece was made by stacking buttons.
updated link
I like how the objects are transformed into a new 'object' sort of like the idea behind fractals.
Day 09 (bonus) - Artwork from an installation artist. - Andy Goldsworthy
I am going to kill two birds with one stone here today. Installation work is typically thought of as indoor site specific work, but in my opinion “land art” is also a site specific installation that is outside. So here is someone I just discovered. Spiral jetty move over.
Day 10 - Craziest (most out there) artist you can think of. - Paul Laffoley
http://paullaffoley.net/paullaffoley/
Crazy, in a non-crazy genius autistic visionary way.
Day 11 - Humorous or funny work of art. - Banksy.
It's all my kind of humor when it comes to Banksy.
http://www.banksy.co.uk/
Day 12 - Artwork from an artist you think is overrated. - Jackson Pollock
Don't get me wrong. I love Pollock. I just don't understand all the romanticizing of his work, even if it was innovative. It is paint splatter from a drunk man.
Day 13 - Work from an artist that you know. - John Guy Petruzzi
Probably my favorite painter while at YSU.

Day 14 - Favorite piece of art hanging on your wall. - Chen Chi
Gave this to my wife for Christmas one year.
Day 15 - CD cover art. - Peter HappelChristian
This is from a photography teacher I had.
It is the cover of a cd by the local band The Sewing Machine War.
Beauty in simplicity and minimalism. Great cd too. Deathcab meets Sigur Rós.

Day 16 - Something that is not created as art, but could be considered art.
So I guess this happened this year in Cleveland.
I think it is art.
Day 17 - Illustrative or Cartoon art. - Nicholas Di Genova
This is titled "Bi-Necked Amphibious Climber Piloted by Member of the Series 7 Militia"
Lots of stuff to scroll through here: updated link
Day 18 - Figurative art. - The Thinker from the Bodies the Exhibition
It's a stretch but this is figurative art to me. While this is art/science I feel it is more aesthetics. Beauty is frozen in a moment and the body RESURRECTED from decay. I saw the exhibit with my dad and sister in Vegas, and the human body is permanently preserved by a process called plastification using liquid silicon rubber. My late father-in-law was the first person to tell me about this and gave me a dvd to check it out several years ago. (Sadly, I think there has been some controversy over the way in which bodies were procured for the exhibit. I didn‘t know this at the time and certainly don’t condone it.)

Day 19 - Art that uses the medium of Video. - Phil Hansen
While not all of his art relies on video for its final form, video does seems to add to it and I like the idea of exposing process.

Day 20 - Work of art you would like to see in person. - Andrew Wyeth
"Christina's World"
I have been to the MOMA but I don't recall seeing this painting. Christina Olson, if you don't know, was paralysed from Polio and would crawl around the family farm. The ratio of sky to land, details in the field, and everything hitting the golden ratio does it for me, plus it's fairly large at 4 feet wide. I’d love to see the detail up-close.
Day 21 - Artwork which is Architectonic. - Antoni Guadi -
I first saw Guadi's work in 1998. He died in 1926. I love how the completion date is 2026 for La Sagrada Familias, Church of the Holy Family.
Day 22 - Artist that is new to you. - Nigel Cooke
Found this while at Barnes and Noble flipping through Painting Today (no, actually Nov 2009 - but that's beside the point) by Tony Godfrey and found this painting "Silva Morosa". Never heard of him before but the work resonated. End story.
Another Nigel Cooke for Day 22 (bonus) - I think I like this painting better. Found it online.
Day 23 - Artwork done by you.
Final Day of posting art. 23 is a nice artistic number. For one, it's after 22 and is before 24, which is linked to the irrational number of hours in the day. It's a good number and I'm out of ideas. Feel free to COPY, ADD TO, or ADJUST what I have done if you should feel compelled to post art for 23 Days.
The Scream, (1893) Edvard Munch
Day 1 - Artwork from one of your favorite artist - Alex Gray
